Dr. Mills, who has conducted research and trained in the utilization of Dungeons and Dragons in therapy settings, creates a metaphorical journey where preteens encounter obstacles and face dilemmas that parallel their own experiences and challenges. In addition to the game itself, "Social Legends" incorporates various therapeutic activities and exercises that target emotional regulation, self-esteem, social skills, and resilience.

A Divorce/Separation Support Group for Teens
Led By: Tyler Chaffee
Who: high school ages 14-17
When: Fridays 4:30-5:30pm
Where: Sheffield Office
Our support group for teens (ages 14-17) is specifically for those adjusting to parental separation or divorce. This low-pressure, judgment-free group is a place where teens can connect with others who understand their experience. Teens will feel respected and safe in an environment that blends fun, interactive activities with opportunities for processing feelings, building an adaptive mindset, and learning coping skills at their own pace. Our group leaders are skilled at teaching skills and opening a safe space, without teens needing to feel any pressure to "talk about their feelings" or "get too deep." Regardless of the recency of family changes, this group offers peer support, practical tools, and a space where they can simply be themselves among others who "get it."
