Every Child Deserves to Feel Confident, Connected, and Understood.

Social and emotional skills — making friends, managing emotions, and navigating peer relationships — don't always develop naturally, and for many children, they simply need the right environment to grow. Facilitated by Caroline Bloomquist, LSW, The Skillz Studio draws on play therapy techniques, CBT-informed coping strategies, positive reinforcement, and natural environment training. Caroline creates a structured yet welcoming space using guided activities, role-play, and collaborative games, to help kids develop meaningful, lasting skills — including emotional regulation, conflict resolution, peer engagement, and self-advocacy.

This group is well-suited for children who experience challenges with shyness, anxiety, impulsivity, frustration tolerance, or social awareness. Each child is met with patience, encouragement, and individualized support, promoting confidence and life skills.

Social Legends is a one-of-a-kind therapy group for preteens and teens that uses the magic of Dungeons & Dragons to build real-world social and emotional skills. Led by Dr. Mills — who has specialized training and research experience using Dungeons & Dragons in therapeutic settings — this group invites kids to step into a world of quests, characters, and adventure while quietly doing the deeper work: learning to manage emotions, navigate relationships, build confidence, and bounce back from challenges. Using the D&D framework alongside Critical Core and targeted therapeutic activities, Social Legends creates a space where kids and teens can explore who they are and who they want to be — one adventure at a time.

An Expressive Arts Therapy Group for Teens

Who: high school ages 14-17
When: Sundays 1-2pm
Where: Wrigleyville Office
Find Your Voice. Express Your Story. You Belong Here.

Being a teen right now isn't easy. There is pressure to perform, fit in, build an identity, and manage emotions that feel too big for words. And sometimes, words alone just aren't enough.

Color Your Story is a creative, judgment-free space designed specifically for teens who are ready to explore what they're feeling — on their own terms, in their own way. No artistic talent required. Led by Caroline Bloomquist, Licensed Social Worker and Certified Shame-Informed Treatment Specialist, this group weaves expressive art techniques with evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help teens do the real work: managing stress, building self-esteem, developing healthy coping skills, and discovering who they truly are beneath all the noise.

Here, teens create alongside peers who get it — because they're going through it too. Through art, conversation, and genuine connection, group members build resilience, find community, and start to feel more at home in themselves. This isn't an art class. It's a space to breathe, explore, and be real. Because sometimes it's easier to draw it before you say it.

Body Positivity Group for Young Adult Women
Led By: Caroline Bloomquist, LSW, CSTS
Who: Adults Ages 18-25
When: Sundays 3:15pm
Where: Wrigleyville Office
You Are Not the Problem. The Standards Are.

So many young women spend years at war with their own bodies — exhausted by comparison, trapped in cycles of shame, and measuring themselves against standards that were never realistic to begin with. You are not broken. And you don't have to keep carrying this alone.

Our Body Positivity Group is a compassionate, professionally led therapy group for women ages 18–25, facilitated by Caroline Bloomquist, Licensed Social Worker and Certified Shame-Informed Treatment Specialist. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, expressive techniques, and trauma-informed care, this group offers a safe, structured space to explore the roots of body shame, challenge harmful narratives, and cultivate something more lasting than positivity — genuine self-acceptance and a sense of worth that has nothing to do with appearance.

Healing doesn't happen in isolation. It happens in honest, supported connection with others who truly understand. You deserve peace with your body. This is where that work begins.
