Dr. Mayra Gaona

Dr. Gaona, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical and school psychologist specializing in neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations for school-aged children and adolescents. She brings extensive experience working with young people and their families across school-based and outpatient settings, and has developed a deep expertise in learning disabilities, ADHD, and the broader landscape of special education — including IEPs, 504 plans, and school-based support services.

Dr. Gaona approaches every evaluation with both rigor and warmth. She believes that families are true partners in the assessment process, and she takes care to ensure that parents, caregivers, and students feel heard and understood from the very first appointment through the feedback session. Her goal is not simply to deliver a report, but to provide families with meaningful, actionable insights they can actually use — whether navigating a school system, seeking the right supports, or finally getting answers they've been looking for.

As a fluent Spanish speaker, Dr. Gaona is able to communicate with Spanish-speaking families throughout the evaluation process, ensuring that parents and caregivers can fully participate in consultations and feedback sessions in the language they feel most comfortable with.
