About Leilanis

I'm an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a particular passion for working with adolescents and young adults, though my practice spans clients from childhood through their late twenties. I have a special focus on ages 12–19, drawing on years of experience supporting teens through the ups and downs of growing up; from adolescent rebellion and identity exploration to depression, anxiety, and family conflict.

As an immigrant myself, I understand firsthand the importance of a supportive family environment where young people can explore who they are safely and authentically. This perspective shapes my focus on family systems work, particularly with families navigating the complexities of raising teens. My understanding of identity across cultures and perspectives also informs my work with clients who identify as LGBTQIA+, ensuring I provide an affirming, safe, and open space for exploration of strengths and goals.

My training in marriage and family work resulted in my certification in Gottman Levels I and II interventions and treatment for couples navigating relationship challenges and major life transitions.

I draw primarily from narrative, humanistic, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and attachment-based approaches, while also incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Integrative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ICBT) as needed. My style is flexible and client-centered as I tailor my approach to what each individual, couple, or family needs most.
